Hi Everybody!

My name is Jana-Leonie (24 years old) and i love doing watersports. I was looking for a new challenge :) so i decided to take the kite assistant course at Lago di Garda at Windriders to learn how to kitesurf. After a theory lesson i had my first day in the water with the kite today. The conditions were perfect and i did some exercises (figure eight, Bodydrag) in the water. I´ll stay here the next 6 weeks and i´ll work on improving my skills as well as learning new skills. I will definetely enjoy the next weeks. So if you guys are looking for a new adventure and if you are interested in learning kitesurfing you should come to the Windriders in Limone at Lake Garda. Using a GoPro camera is probably the best way to capture kitesurfers in action. This device can be attached almost everywhere – to the helmet, lines, bridles or strut. Of course it can be used as a normal camera as well and it’s great for filming or taking pictures from the boat. Anyway, check out the gallery below and see why it’s worth to have!

 

Um Kitesurfer in Aktion aufzunehmen ist warscheinlich am besten eine GoPro Kamera geeignet. Diese kann fast überall angebracht werden - an den Bridles, den Struds und am Helm. Natürlich kann man sie auch als normale Kamera verwenden und sie ist gut um vom Boot zu filmen oder zu fotographieren. Jedenfalls könnt ihr die folgenden Fotos anklicken und bekommt mit ob es sich lohnt eine GoPro zu besitzen!

Like every season we have some used equipment for sale. We offer plenty of 2013 Best Kahoonas (sizes from 3.5 to 13.5) and many other Best and North kites. Apart from that we offer harnesses, bars, Go Joes, impact vests and many other new as well as used products.

Check out our offer here and  don’t hestitate to contact us if you have any questions! We also offer packages of kitesurfing gear. For example beginner package (big board + Kahoona with a bar + seat harness, + optional lifejacket or impact vest + optional Go Joe + optional wetsuit) or pro package (smaller board + Vegas with a bar + waist harness + optional lifejacket or impact vest + Go Joe + wetsuit). You can mix the items between the packages and create your own, specific one which would fully fit your expectations. Hey Leute,

ich bin's! Etto (Franco Ettore Zannini, Iko ID 7752 - level 2 instructor, mehr als 1.200 Unterrichtsstunden) Ich Spreche Italienisch, spanisch und englisch. Ich werde 2014 eine Saison im Windriders Team arbeiten ... das klingt ziemlich gut!

2010 habe ich meinen IKO instructor gemacht und habe seitdem unter anderem 2010 am Gardasee in surfsegnana, 2011 in Formentera, 2012 am Como See in der Dervio Ksl Schule und 2013 in Fuerteventura am Flag Beach gearbeitet.

The last week of June

After the previous week of heats a bit colder air came over the Garda Lake this time but it was still round 25 degrees every day. We had also some rain this week but what's the most important - lots of wind so teaching went very well

  

Letzte Juni Woche

Nach der vorherigen heißen Woche gibt es nun kältere Luft am Gardasee, aber es sind trotzdem noch um die 25 Grad jeden Tag. Wir hatte ebenso etwas Regen diese Woche aber das wichtigste - Viel Wind und das Unterrichten lief gut

7th und 8th Pro-coaching wochenende

Letztes Wochende am 7/8 Juni hatten wir ein Pro coaching event. Das ist Kitesurfunterricht mit reduzierten Preisen für fortgeschrittene Fahrer. Es war super!!

 

Jeden Tag Wind und eine tolle Gruppe. Die Teilnemer haben folgendes gelernt: Backroll, unhooked raily, den erste sprung, kiteloop und vieles mehr. Samstag abend hatten wir eine safety clinic. Weil es immer besser ist auf einen Kitenotfall vorbereitet zu sein.

Denke daran: Immer Schwimwest anziehen, Handy im Acquapac haben und nicht alleine kitesurfen gehen!

 

Am Abend waren wir Pizza essen in der beste Pizzaria von Limone: Al Torcol

DER WIND UND DAS KITESURFEN MACHT DIE LEUTE GLÜCKLICH AM GARDASEE :)

Der erste Monat ist um. Wir hatten einen großartigen Start in die neue Saison. Schon vom ersten April an bließ die Ora, was nicht selbstverständlich ist. Meist gibt es ja nur den Peler in den kälteren Monaten.

Wir durften schon einige fortgeschrittenen Kurse, wie Raceboard und Hydrofoil, geben und natürlich auch Anfängerkurse.

In diesem Jahr bieten wir qualitativ hochwertige Zelte incl. Matratzen mit allem Bettzeug für 25 € die WOCHE! Es wurde auch schon von unseren englischen Gästen Tom und Paul getestet und für gut befunden.

Just returned home after a fantastic week kite surfing in Lake Garda with Wind Riders. Mika and the team were really professional and the instruction was brilliant. We camped for the week and had a combination of lessons and lifts with supervision. The wind on Lake Garda was consistent and allowed for 2 sessions kiting a day. The instructors take you out to where the wind is best and bring you back after the session. The school uses radio helmets for their lessons which more teaching time on the water.
Mika rented us a tent with camping equipment which worked really well and the campsite was right on the lake and 2 minutes walk to the school.
Thanks to all the Wind Riders team for making this such a great holiday. Will definitely be back!!

Wind Riders were fantastic hosts for a great week of kitesurfing. Me and a friend were just starting to ride up-wind so we were looking for somewhere not too far from the UK that could help progress our riding. By the end of the week we were jumping and riding toe side! I’d heard Lake Garda boasted 80% ride-able wind in April, we had 7 sessions in 5 days. 6 of them perfect constant wind, one day light wind (which although frustrating, improved our riding skills) and one day of no wind, but Mika offered self-rescue and wake-boarding as an alternative – useful and fun! Our instructors for the week, Christian and Kaitarno were excellent. Chilled, happy people who knew there stuff. A few wise words over the radio helmets (great idea) and techniques improved instantly and new skills learnt. You could tell they loved what they do as they went kitesurfing on their days off!

The school has all the equipment you need. We borrowed stuff that we didn’t have, wetsuit gloves are definitely recommended in April! Wetsuit, boots and gloves were needed as the lake was cold but with the right kit was fine. The sun was out most days, a great feeling as you’re riding along in the morning and the sun pops over the mountain basking you in sunrays!! truly incredible along with the scenery.

We camped; Mika recommended camping site Nanzel, which was perfect. Our tent was 150m from the school and 4ft from the lakeside! Mika offered camping stuff for a very reasonable price, which meant we didn’t have to lug a tent etc on the verona flight. Tent, mattress, sleeping bags and rug were all very new and well kept. Campsite offered a cafe which we eat breakfast and lunch in. Very good and pretty cheap. We always eat out in town in the evenings, pizza and pasta was the staple diet!

Overall a fantastic week, would definitely recommend to anyone looking to improve their skills or just ride. Thanks team

This year, after last year’s memorable experience, I decided to come back kiting with Wind Riders.
Despite finding an enlarged school with more students and lifters, I was pleased to discover that the attentions to the single customers has remained unchanged!

Last year a 5 days course has brought my level from zero to self-sufficient; this year, after fixing position and upwind riding, I learned how to kite with a surf board (upwind, downwind and turns), I managed my first downwind loops and I significantly improved my jumping skills.
The lessons has brought my kiting to a hole new level:
Last year I felt comfortable to kite under supervision; this year I felt comfortable to ride and try tricks on my own.

No regrets I came back to the same kiting school. No wonders I’ll come back again.

Just finished two days with Mika and Christian on lake Garda. Fantastic location, plenty wind options ensure you get a decent kitesurfing session.
Great set up, just turn up, good rental gear and ready to go, noi messing about for maximum time on the board..
Very impressed with helmet comms which I have not had at other schools, English spoken was 100%.
Will definitely come back, time on the board was great and my kitesurfing improved immensely after two days.
Forget Tarifa (I have kitesurfed there) where you get pummled by waves, much better in fresh water where you get taken by boat to the best location and can advance your skills in a much shorter time..
Will definitely be back with Mika and the crew, British, German, Italian, doesn’t matter…..
Great school, easy set up, awesome location..
